Electricity Short-circuit Dominates Fire Cases in West Jakarta

There are eight electricity short-circuit causes. The remaining six cases are due to other causes, such as cigarettes, chemicals and garbage

The West Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency has noted that fire cases in Central Jakarta area are mostly caused by electricity short-circuit with a total of 24 cases throughout November.

West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Operation Division Head Eko Sumarno said, along November, the case was dominated in Kebon Jeruk (five cases), Taman Sari (four cases), Tambora (four cases), Kembangan (three cases), Cengkareng (three cases), Grogol Petamburan (two cases), Palmerah (two cases) and Kalideres (two cases).

January-November, 328 Fire Cases Occurred in East Jakarta

"There are eight electricity short-circuit causes. The remaining six cases are due to other causes, such as cigarettes, chemicals and garbage," he said, Thursday (12/10).

As for burning objects were dominated by house buildings, stalls, aerial cables (six cases) and garbage, vehicles and so on (five cases).

"The loss is estimated at Rp 2,937,530,000," he explained.

Therefore his sub-agency urged residents to always be vigilant, despite it has entered the rainy season.
